Leinster Feis 2026

The event
Oireachtas Rince Laighean is a Leinster regional feis, run every year by Comhairle Laighean and adjudicated by judges from each of the four provinces. The 2026 event filled four floors from 8.30am into the evening, with 20 age categories, 15 dance types and 5 competition levels, from first-timers in Bun Grád right up to the championship team events in Ard Grád. This app was designed for attending parents to navigate the day, create a personal schedule, and track their own child's results.

The challenge
The published timetable runs to several pages, covering four floors running all day, and was shared as a PDF on social media, where not every parent has an account. With a dancer competing in more than one grade, the only schedule available was the full grid for every competitor, not just the handful of slots that mattered to one family.
The App
A live schedule filterable by floor, age and grade meant families could find their dancer's slots without wading through the full four-floor timetable. A live feed kept everyone updated when the schedule ran behind, so no one missed a dance. A personal My Dances list let parents star just their own dancer's events and follow along through the day. Parents could also log their child's results themselves and have them emailed home afterwards, so there was always a record to keep.
